When they had their first Gaëlle meeting had 20 days old ( in 1990 ).

Gaëlle our daughter was diagnosed with a very severe congenital heart disease.

She was diagnosed with a SINGLE VENTRICLE (univentricle) ( situs solitus and Levocardia with an intermediate chamber of evacuation ), and a transposition of the great arteries (TGA), ATRESIA ( Atresia of the valve between atrium and left ventricle ).

She was diagnosed with and a coarctation of aortic isthmus. associed with a hypoplasia (Insufficient development of a tissue or an organ). (in tub) of the horizontal aorte + a vein cave (left superior) who drains into the coronary sinus
without connexion with the right superior vena cava.

One suggested us that our daughter was not viable.

Gaëlle came into the world on February 25, 1990.The doctors and nurses suspected something when she was born 15 days old...

At 20 days after her birth Gaëlle underwent her first of five surgeries called aortoplasty and the ligature of the pulmonary artery.

Unfortunatly after the second surgery, she was Diagnosed with a subaortic stenosis (Narrowing of the blood vessel’s calibre, which may be fairly tight, and that provokes a more or less complete fall in blood flow downstream).

When she was 3 months old she had her first (on four) open heart surgery on by-pass (Heart lungs machine).

Surgeons enlarged her foramen and the ASDto allow blood to flow more easily.
They would also need to do an atrial septectomy, which is to put a hole or passageway between the left and right atrium.

When she was 15 months old after Gaëlle had an another heart surgery because she had started a development of an anevrism (on her heart).It was repaired using a difficult repair method.It was removed successfully.

When she was 6 1/2 years old Gaëlle had another Heart Surgery at the Centre Chirurgical Marie Lannelongue in PARIS

In November 2000, an another new surgery is scheduled for at the Centre Chirurgical Marie Lannelongue.in Paris
